أكد السفير علي عبدي أواري سفير جمهورية الصومال الفيدرالية لدى مصر والمندوب الدائم لدى جامعة الدول العربية، أن العلاقات المصرية الصومالية هي علاقات قوية راسخة وممتدة عبر التاريخ، ولا تشوبها أي شائبة، مؤكدا حرص جمهورية الصومال الفيدرالية على تعزيز التعاون مع جمهورية مصر العربية وزيادة وتيرة التنسيق خلال المرحلة المقبلة.
ونفى سفير الصومال بالقاهرة في بيان له- ما أوردته صحيفة العربي الجديد من معلومات مغلوطة بشأن توتر العلاقات بين جمهورية الصومال الفيدرالية وجمهورية مصر العربية وتجميد اتفاقية التعاون العسكري التي وقعها البلدان في أغسطس من العام 2024، مؤكدا انها عارية تماما عن الصحة .
ودعا سفير الصومال بالقاهرة ومندوبها الدائم لدى جامعة الدول العربية، وسائل الإعلام إلى توخى الدقة وعدم الاستناد إلى معلومات مغلوطة تمس العلاقات بين الأشقاء .
وشدد سفير الصومال على ان مصر كانت وما زالت وستظل داعمة للصومال، مثمنا جهود جمهورية مصر العربية بقيادة فخامة الرئيس عبد الفتاح السيسي في دعم الصومال على كافة المستويات السياسية والاقتصادية والعسكرية والامنية والثقافية.
Somali Ambassador in Cairo Affirms Strength of Somali-Egyptian Relations and Commends Egypt’s Comprehensive Support
H.E. Ambassador Ali Abdi Aware, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, affirmed that Somali-Egyptian relations are strong, historic, and deeply rooted, unmarred by any disputes. He emphasized Somalia’s keenness to enhance cooperation with the Arab Republic of Egypt and to intensify coordination between the two countries in the coming period.
In an official statement, Ambassador Aware categorically denied what was reported by Al-Araby Al-Jadeed newspaper regarding alleged tensions between the Federal Republic of Somalia and the Arab Republic of Egypt, as well as the purported suspension of the military cooperation agreement signed by both countries in August 2024. He asserted that such claims are entirely unfounded and lack any basis in truth.
The Ambassador urged media outlets to exercise accuracy and responsibility, and to refrain from publishing false or misleading information that could harm the fraternal ties between the two nations.
He reaffirmed that Egypt has always been — and will continue to be — a steadfast supporter of Somalia, expressing deep appreciation for the efforts of the Arab Republic of Egypt under the leadership of H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in providing support to Somalia across political, economic, military, security, and cultural fields.
