رحب السيد أحمد أبو الغيط، الأمين العام لجامعة الدول العربية، بتعيين السيد حسين الشيخ نائبًا لرئيس اللجنة التنفيذية لمنظمة التحرير الفلسطينية، ونائبًا لرئيس دولة فلسطين.
وأشاد جمال رشدي، المتحدث الرسمي باسم الأمين العام، بهذا الإجراء الذي وصفه بأنه “خطوة هامة في سياق الإصلاح الذي أعلنه الرئيس محمود عباس في القمة العربية الطارئة التي عُقدت في مارس الماضي.”
وأضاف رشدي أن هذا التعيين يعكس التوجه الإصلاحي الإيجابي للسلطة الفلسطينية ويعزز من جهودها لتحديث المؤسسات الفلسطينية.
وأكد أبو الغيط على دعم جامعة الدول العربية لهذا التوجه الإصلاحي، موضحًا أن الجامعة العربية تقف بجانب الشعب الفلسطيني في سعيه نحو النهوض بمؤسساته وتعزيز موقفه على الصعيدين الإقليمي والدولي.
كما أضاف أن الإصلاحات الفلسطينية التي تهدف إلى تعزيز النظام السياسي وتعظيم قدرات مؤسسات الدولة الفلسطينية، تمثل خطوة مهمة نحو تحقيق السلام العادل والشامل.
وأشار أبو الغيط إلى أن هذه الإصلاحات تساهم في إبطال الذرائع التي تستخدمها بعض الأطراف للمماطلة في استحقاقات السلام والتسوية.
وشدد على أن جامعة الدول العربية تواصل دعمها الثابت للحقوق الفلسطينية، مؤكداً أن هذا التعيين هو مؤشر إضافي على التزام القيادة الفلسطينية بتحقيق تطلعات الشعب الفلسطيني في الحرية والعدالة.
وفي الختام، أعرب أبو الغيط عن تمنياته للسيد حسين الشيخ بالتوفيق في مهامه الجديدة، مؤكدًا أن جامعة الدول العربية ستظل دائمًا في دعم القضية الفلسطينية بكل قوة، ساعية إلى تحقيق السلام العادل والمستدام في المنطقة.
Aboul Gheit Welcomes the Appointment of Hussein al-Sheikh as Deputy of the President of Palestine: A Step Towards Reform and Strengthening the Palestinian Position
Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the Secretary-General of the Arab League, welcomed the appointment of Mr. Hussein al-Sheikh as Deputy of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization and Deputy President of the State of Palestine.
In a statement, Jamal Rushdi, the official spokesperson for the Secretary-General, described the move as “an important step in the reform process announced by President Mahmoud Abbas during the emergency Arab Summit in March.” Rushdi added that this appointment reflects the positive reform direction of the Palestinian Authority and reinforces its efforts to modernize Palestinian institutions.
Aboul Gheit expressed the Arab League’s full support for this reform direction, emphasizing that it strengthens Palestine’s position both regionally and internationally.
