التقى سفير جمهورية العراق في القاهرة د. قحطان طه خلف، مع السفير محمود عمر، مساعد وزير الخارجية المصري ومدير إدارة فلسطين، بمقر وزارة الخارجية المصرية في العاصمة الإدارية الجديدة، في لقاءٍ ركز على تعزيز التعاون الثنائي وتوحيد الجهود العربية لدعم الحقوق الفلسطينية.
وخلال اللقاء، ناقش الجانبان **المستجدات الأخيرة للقضية الفلسطينية**، مع تأكيد على ضرورة تنسيق المواقف العربية في المحافل الدولية لضمان دعمٍ فعّال للشعب الفلسطيني وحقوقه المشروعة. كما أشاد الطرفان بالدور المحوري الذي تلعبه كل من **بغداد والقاهرة** في دعم القضية، لا سيما في ظل التحديات الإقليمية الراهنة.
من جهة أخرى، شهد اللقاء بحثًا موسعًا حول **التحضيرات الجارية للقمة العربية المرتقبة في بغداد**، حيث اتفق الجانبان على أهمية إنجاح الحدث لتعزيز الوحدة العربية وخلق آلية عمل مشتركة لمواجهة التحديات، وعلى رأسها القضية الفلسطينية التي تظل في صدارة الأولويات.
وأكد السفير العراقي أن اللقاء “جسّد عمق العلاقات الاستراتيجية بين البلدين”، فيما نوّه المساعد المصري إلى “التطلع لمزيد من التنسيق لتحقيق تطلعات الشعوب العربية”.
يأتي هذا اللقاء في إطار سلسلة مشاورات مكثفة تُجرى على المستوى العربي استعدادًا للقمة المزمعة.
“Iraqi-Egyptian High-Level Consultations on the Palestinian Issue and Preparations for the Baghdad Arab Summit”
The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Cairo, Dr. Qahtan Taha Khalaf, met with Ambassador Mahmoud Omar, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt and Director of the Palestine Department, at the headquarters of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the New Administrative Capital.
The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation and unifying Arab efforts to support Palestinian rights.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the latest developments in the Palestinian issue, emphasizing the necessity of coordinating Arab positions in international forums to ensure effective support for the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights.
Both parties also praised the pivotal role played by Baghdad and Cairo in backing the Palestinian cause, particularly amid current regional challenges.
Additionally, the meeting included extensive discussions on preparations for the upcoming Arab Summit in Baghdad.
The two sides agreed on the importance of ensuring the success of the event to enhance Arab unity and establish a joint mechanism to address challenges, foremost among them the Palestinian issue, which remains a top priority.
The Iraqi Ambassador affirmed that the meeting “embodied the depth of strategic relations between the two countries,” while the Egyptian Assistant Minister highlighted “the aspiration for further coordination to achieve the aspirations of Arab peoples.”
This meeting comes as part of a series of intensive consultations taking place at the Arab level in preparation for the planned summit.
