Cairo–Ankara Summit Reshapes Regional Partnership: El-Sisi and Erdoğan Open a New Chapter of Strategic Cooperation

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi today receives Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Cairo, in an official visit that reflects the growing momentum in bilateral relations and marks a significant step toward strengthening political and economic cooperation between Egypt and Türkiye.

The two leaders are scheduled to hold official bilateral talks, followed by co-chairing the second meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council between Egypt and Türkiye.

This mechanism aims to enhance coordination, institutional dialogue, and joint action across various fields of mutual interest.


President El-Sisi and President Erdoğan will also participate in the closing session of the Egyptian-Turkish Business Forum, held with the broad participation of business leaders, financial institutions, and economic stakeholders from both countries.

The forum seeks to boost trade exchange, encourage mutual investments, and explore new opportunities in key sectors, including industry, energy, infrastructure, logistics, tourism, and technology.


The discussions are expected to address several major political and regional issues, most notably developments in the Middle East, the Palestinian cause, the situations in Libya and Syria, maritime security in the Red Sea and the Eastern Mediterranean, as well as counterterrorism efforts and regional stability.


On the economic front, the summit will focus on strengthening trade and investment partnerships, increasing bilateral trade volume, expanding joint manufacturing initiatives, promoting renewable energy cooperation, and supporting private sector engagement as a key driver of sustainable growt
The visit comes at a critical time amid rapidly evolving regional and global challenges, reflecting the commitment of both leaderships to building relations based on mutual respect, shared interests, and strategic dialogue.

It also underscores their determination to open broader horizons for long-term cooperation, serving the aspirations of the Egyptian and Turkish peoples and contributing to regional stability and development.
