نعى وزير الخارجية الفنزويلي، إيفان خيل، ببالغ الحزن والأسى وفاة قداسة البابا فرنسيس، مشيدًا بمسيرته الاستثنائية كزعيم ديني وأخلاقي وروحي، قائلاً: “لقد تلقينا نبأ رحيل البابا فرانسيس، خورخي بيرجوليو، إلى المجد الأبدي بقلوب دامية، إذ كان محبوبًا من جميع المسيحيين وأتباع الديانات حول العالم، وأعاد للكنيسة الكاثوليكية حيويتها ومكانتها العالمية”.
وفي رسالة مؤثرة نشرها عبر قناته على تطبيق تيليغرام، عبّر خيل عن تقدير فنزويلا وشعوب أمريكا اللاتينية للبابا الراحل، قائلًا: “عزيزي فرنسيس، كنتَ صديقًا لشعبنا، ورجلًا استثنائيًا يتمتع بوضوح إنساني عميق، ومثالاً يُحتذى به في النور والأمل. لقد أرشدتنا إلى طريق المحبة والعدل والأخوة، وسنواصل السير على خطاك”.
وأشار خيل إلى دعم البابا التاريخي لفنزويلا، وتقديره لقديسيها المحليين خوسيه جريجوريو هيرنانديز وكارمن رينديليس، معتبرًا إياهما “نموذجين عالميين للحياة المسيحية”.
وختم قائلًا: “لقد كان الله مرشدك في الحياة، وهو اليوم يستقبلك كواحد من أعظم مساعديه. المجد والشرف الأبدي لبابا الإنسانية، خورخي بيرجوليو”.
Venezuelan Foreign Minister Mourns Pope Francis: “You Were a Man of Light and Hope, a Guide on the Path of Love and Justice”
With deep sorrow and heartfelt grief, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil mourned the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis, praising his extraordinary legacy as a moral, spiritual, and religious leader.
“We received the news of the passing of Pope Francis—Jorge Bergoglio—with heavy hearts. He was beloved by Christians and followers of all faiths around the world, and he revitalized the Catholic Church, restoring its global prominence and vitality.”
In an emotional message posted on his Telegram channel, Gil expressed Venezuela’s and Latin America’s deep appreciation for the late pontiff, saying: “Dear Francis, you were a cherished friend to our people, a remarkable human being with profound moral clarity—a true symbol of light and hope. You guided us on the path of love, justice, and fraternity.
We will continue walking that path, inspired by your example.”
Gil also highlighted the Pope’s unwavering support for Venezuela and his recognition of the country’s two native saints—José Gregorio Hernández and Carmen Rendiles—whom he described as “universal models of Christian life.”
He concluded: “God was your guide in life, and today He welcomes you by His side as one of His greatest servants.
Eternal honor and glory to the Pope of humanity, Jorge Bergoglio.”
